BETH-MEON

BETH-MEON

City of Reuben east of the Jordan (Jer. 48:23). Also called Baal-meon, Beth-baal-meon, and Beon (Josh. 13:17; Num. 32:3; 38, which says, “the names changed”; 1 Chron. 5:8).

In Ez. 25:9 speaks of it as a city that was from “the desirable lands.”
The ruins, called Tell Maain, are located at 31° 41′ N, 35° 44′ E, north of the country of Moab, almost 6 and a half km southwest of Medeba.
