HELMET
For head protection in battle. They were made of leather, iron, bronze (1 Mac. 6:35).
The Egyptians, Philistines, Assyrians, Babylonians and Persians used them (1 Sam. 17:5; Jer. 46:4; Ez. 23:23, 24; 27:10).
As early as Saul’s time (1 Sam. 17:5, 38), Israelites and Philistines occasionally wore bronze helmets.
Uzziah equipped his troops with helmets and coats of mail (2 Chron. 26:14). In the Christian’s armor, the helmet is “salvation” (Eph. 6:17).
It is those who have the consciousness of salvation who can take part in the battle against the spirits of evil in the heavenly places.
