QUILL

(Heb. “gêht”: Jb. 19:24; Ps. 45:1; Jer. 8:8; 17:1; and “ghehret”: Ex. 32:4; Is. 8:1). Translated variously in the Reina-Valera version, these two terms denote any instrument used either to engrave an inscription on stone or metal, or a reed to write on papyrus or parchment. In the NT it is used in 3 Jn. 3 (Gr. “kalamos”).
