NEST

NEST

Shelter that birds prepare; In them they protect and shelter their chicks.

In the Bible, this term appears in its literal sense (Deut. 22:6). It is also used as an image of refuge and God’s protection (Ps. 84:3); in Ez. 31:6 is used as an illustration of the refuge that small people sought in the shadow of the power of Egypt.

The Lord Jesus shows the contrast between the refuge that birds have with their own lack of a place to lay their head (Mt. 8:20; Luke 9:58) and also as a symbol of the refuge they find in the bosom of Christianity those false professors who attempt to destroy the work of sowing the word of God
