Death

The Bible speaks about the human experience of death and the pain of those who experience loss. These Bible verses address the topic of death, offering hope and comfort through eternal life.

Ecclesiastes 7:1: “A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth.”

Ecclesiastes 12:7: “And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Hebrews 9:27: “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.”

Revelation 21:4: “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
