In this sermon on June 4, 2023, Pastor Paula White Cain speaks of the power of the Holy Spirit in Creation, and how the Spirit was active in the Old Testament as part of the divine plan.

Bible references: Psalm 33:6, Genesis 1:2, Exodus 31:2-3, Judges 6:34, Matthew 3:11, 2 Peter 1:21, Acts 10:38, John 16:7, Jeremiah 23:23-24, Psalm 139:1-12, Acts 1:1-2, Acts 2:1-4, John 7:37-39, Romans 10:9

The Holy Spirit visits people in dreams, putting you in their hearts. Jesus pleads your cause in heaven. Favor comes with the Holy Spirit, who knocks on hearts, quickening them for your benefit.

Purity is key in knowing the Holy Spirit intimately. He is a person, part of the Trinity, filling heaven and earth, knowing all things. His omnipresence is assuring; there's nowhere you can hide from Him. The Holy Spirit actively created the universe, and His ongoing work ties into a later point.

Paula White talks of how the Spirit gives us a strategy and how God gave specific people names and plans for how to implement things in a way that would bring glory to Him. She speaks of the importance of fasting to bring clarity, and how the Spirit can bring forth creative workmanship and provide a skill or craft to those who are sensitive to Him.

She also speaks of the Spirit's role in the life and ministry of Jesus, how He was baptized with the Holy Spirit and power and went about doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil. Finally, she speaks of how the Spirit can equip us for philanthropic works, and how we should be sensitive to Him.

Pastor Paula White Cain talks about the importance of being sensitive to the shifting seasons that God brings into our lives. She recounts how God suddenly shifted her family's plans to go on vacation from Colorado to Israel, and how He provided for every detail in the trip. She discusses the importance of the Holy Spirit and its role in miracles and manifestations.

The psalmist, in Psalm 33:6, reveals the Holy Spirit's role in creation through the word of the Lord and the breath of His mouth. This underscores the active involvement of the Holy Spirit in all of creation. Therefore, understanding the Holy Spirit's ongoing work in the world is crucial.

The Holy Spirit is not only a historical figure but continues to operate dynamically in our lives today. His presence is not confined to the past; rather, He is actively involved in our present circumstances. This reality ties into a later point, which emphasizes the Holy Spirit's ongoing activity in believers' lives.

In essence, the Holy Spirit is a person, part of the Trinity, with omniscient knowledge and omnipresence. His work extends beyond creation, reaching into the depths of our hearts and circumstances. Recognizing His continuous presence and activity is essential for a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit's role in our lives.

She explains that the Holy Spirit pleads our cause on Earth and in Heaven and that favors come from the reverence of the Lord. She encourages her listeners to seek the intimacy of the Holy Spirit and to pursue purity and holiness in order to know Him more deeply. Finally, she prays that listeners will have a divine supernatural visitation for their loved ones.

Pastor Paula White Cain recounts her experiences of ministering in a gang-infested area of Los Angeles, where she preached about Jesus despite death threats.

She tells the story of a man named Dreamer who was going to take her life until the Holy Spirit moved upon him. She goes on to talk about the power of the Holy Spirit, explaining that Jesus' teachings and miracles were only possible through the Holy Spirit.

She then encourages the congregation to understand the power of the Holy Spirit and to thirst for it, so that they can become dispensers and move in the gifts of the Spirit. Finally, she prays for the congregation to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

The Secret of Strength and Happiness

Timothy Keller
Psalm 1 is the gateway to the rest of the psalms. The “law” is all Scripture, to “meditate” is to think out its implications for all life, and to “delight” in it means not merely to comply but to love what God commands.
The new heavens and new earth are perfect because everyone and everything is glorifying God fully and therefore enjoying him forever.

A Glimpse into the Future of Eternal Praise

Timothy Keller
Every possible experience, if prayed to the God who is really there, is destined to end in praise. Confession leads to the joy of forgiveness. Laments lead to a deeper resting in him for our happiness. If we could praise God perfectly, we would love him completely and then our joy would be full.
Gospel joy, knowing how honored and loved we are in Christ (verse 5), makes us ready for this mission.

Poetry of Praise and Redemptive Mission

Timothy Keller
The praise of the redeemed. His people praise him because he has made them his people and because he honors and delights in them —though they don’t deserve it. Gospel joy, knowing how honored and loved we are in Christ, makes us ready for this mission.
Praise unites us also with one another. Here is “the only potential bond between the extremes of mankind: joyful preoccupation with God.” Praise the Lord!

The Praise that Unites All

Timothy Keller
Praise Those Unites. We see extremes brought together in praise: wild animals and kings, old and young. Young men and maids, old men and babes. How can humans be brought into the music? He has raised up for his people a horn, a strong deliverer.
All of nature sings God’s glory; we alone are out of tune. The question is this: How can we be brought back into the great music?

Praise Resounds Throughout Creation

Timothy Keller
The Praise Of Creation. Praise comes to God from all he has made. It begins in the highest heaven (verses 1–4). It comes from the sun and moon and stars (verse 3), from the clouds and rain (verse 4).
