Prayer to Act with Faith and Accomplish Great Deeds
"And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies." — Hebrews 11:32-34 (NIV)
Daily Exhortation
The Bible says faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. All the men listed in our scripture had this kind of confidence. Beyond that however, they took actions based on their faith. The Bible says in James 2:17 (NIV) that "... faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." If you want to do great deeds using the power of faith, you must also be ready to take action. Are you ready?
Today's Prayers
1. Lord of hosts, I desire to attempt great deeds in my own generation using the power of faith. Help me, in the name of Jesus.
2. My Father, I believe from the bottom of my heart that You are real and that everything in Your word is completely true.
3. Therefore Lord, I believe that if I desire a thing and I have confidence that it will happen for me, according to Your word, it will happen for me, in the name of Jesus.
4. This morning, O God, I ask, that in my own generation, let me use the power of faith in my life to conquer kingdoms and to gain what was promised, in the name of Jesus.
5. In my own generation, O Lord, let me have my own lions whose mouths I will shut and flames whose fury I will quench with the power of faith, in the name of Jesus.
6. By the power of faith in my life, in my generation, Father, let me escape the edge of the sword, have my weaknesses turned into strength and let me also rout foreign enemies in my own way, in the name of Jesus.
7. Thank You my Excellency because I know that as I take concrete actions based on my faith, all my desires will manifest without exception, in the name of Jesus.
