Let Us Keep To The Point

Oswald Chambers

Shut out every other consideration and keep yourself before God for this one thing only - My Utmost for His Highest. I am determined to be absolutely and entirely for Him and for Him alone.

He brings us to the place where He asks us to be our utmost for Him.

He brings us to the place where He asks us to be our utmost for Him.

Let Us Keep To The Point. Daily Devotional by Oswald Chambers

"My eager desire and hope being that I may never feel ashamed, but that now as ever I may do honour to Christ in my own person by fearless courage." Philippians 1:20 (MOFFATT)

My Utmost for His Highest. "My eager desire and hope being that I may never feel ashamed." We shal al feel very much ashamed if we do not yield to Jesus on the point He has asked us to yield to Him.

Paul says - "My determination is to be my utmost for His Highest." To get there is a question of wil , not of debate nor of reasoning, but a surrender of wil , an absolute and irrevocable surrender on that point.

An overweening consideration for ourselves is the thing that keeps us from that decision, though we put it that we are considering others.

When we consider what it wil cost others if we obey the cal of Jesus, we tel God He does not know what our obedience wil mean. Keep to the point; He does know.

Shut out every other consideration and keep yourself before God for this one thing only - My Utmost for His Highest. I am determined to be absolutely and entirely for Him and for Him alone.

My Undeterredness for His Holiness. "Whether that means life or death, no matter!" (v.21.) Paul is determined that nothing shal deter him from doing exactly what God wants. God's order has to work up to a crisis in our lives because we wil not heed the gentler way.

He brings us to the place where He asks us to be our utmost for Him, and we begin to debate; then He produces a providential crisis where we have to decide - for or against, and from that point the "Great Divide" begins.

If the crisis has come to you on any line, surrender your wil to Him absolutely and irrevocably.

If you find your conscience vanishing, you must realize the seriousness of your condition and repent; beseech God for a clear, functioning conscience

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Holy Hatred of Sin

John MacArthur
We desperately need to recover a holy hatred of sin. We need to do this corporately as a church, but we also need to do it individually as believers. Sin is surely not a pleasant subject to study or preach on, but it is necessary.
Our task is to do what the psalmist David did: He didn’t worry about “great matters” or things “too profound” for him.

Calm And Quiet

David Jeremiah
According to medical researchers at Duke University, there is a “vicious cycle” involving insomnia, anxiety, and depression. It’s sort of a “which came first: the chicken or the egg?” scenario.
When we learn His purposes and make them our prayers, we are giving Him the opportunity to act.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

The Rope of Prayer

David Jeremiah
Daniel was a man who communicated with heaven. He prayed fervently, consistently, and for the will of God. He knew nothing of praying only before meals, at bedtime, and when he really needed God’s help.
Depression is apt to turn us away from the ordinary commonplace things of God's creation

The Initiative Against Depression

Oswald Chambers
A human being is capable of depression, otherwise there would be no capacity for exaltation. There are things that are calculated to depress, things that are of the nature of death; and in taking an estimate of yourself, always take into account the capacity for depression.
When the inspiration of God comes, and He says -

The Inspiration of Spiritual Initiative

Oswald Chambers
When the inspiration of God does come, it comes with such miraculous power that we are able to arise from the dead and do the impossible thing. God does not give us overcoming life; He gives us life as we overcome.
