Christian Prayer

Choose Life

Germaine Copeland 248

Our Daily Prayer: Father, You have set before me life and death, blessings and curses. I choose life that I and my children might live. I choose to love You, Lord, to obey You and to cling to You, for You are my life.

I choose life that I and my children might live

I choose life that I and my children might live

chose to do the will of the Father. In the New Testament, a glorious event took place! Jesus came to give abundant life. “In him was life, and that life was the light of men.”

When you receive Jesus, you receive life. A great exchange takes place when you choose to renew your mind to the Word of God. Read and meditate on God’s Word, memorize and personalize Scripture. Put God’s Word first. Choose life!

Prayer to God

Father, You have set before me life and death, blessings and curses. I choose life that I and my children might live.

I choose to love You, Lord, to obey You and to cling to You, for You are my life. Thank You for blessing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

I turn away from wrong, whether of body or spirit, and purify myself, living in the wholesome fear of God. In the name of Jesus, I give Your Word preeminence in my life. Amen.

Not To Be Muzzled

J. Stephen Lang
1531: In the Middle Ages most churches in Europe, especially the great cathedrals, had relics of some saint—these could be teeth, bones, pieces of clothing, a sword or axe by which the saint was martyred, and so forth.
Jesus Christ is in the Sight-Restoring Business.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

The Blind Demoniac

David Jeremiah
Satan is in the Eye-Blinding Business. The Bible warns that the “god of this age” has blinded the minds of unbelievers “lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Every Christian is a steward of God—He has provided—we are to be faithful.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

To Be Found Faithful

David Jeremiah
The earliest, and still the best, biblical example of a steward is Joseph—the favorite son of Jacob who was sold as a slave into Egypt by his jealous brothers. So rich was the blessing of God on Joseph that his Egyptian master, the wealthy Potiphar, made Joseph the overseer and manager (steward) of his entire household.
If we sow a godly action, we will reap a godly blessing.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

God’s Harvest Law

David Jeremiah
Just as there are laws in the physical realm, so there are laws in the spiritual realm. One found in Galatians 6:7 is the universal Law of the Harvest: “… for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
Certainly the fear of God includes awe and reverence, but it does not exclude literal holy terror.

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

The Truth of Love Needs the Truth of Wrath

John MacArthur
People often try to explain the sense of these verses away by saying that the “fear” called for is a devout sense of awe and reverence. Certainly the fear of God includes awe and reverence, but it does not exclude literal holy terror.
