A New Beginning

Joseph Jeremiah

Sermon based on Exodus 12:1–13. The Children of Israel were in Egypt experiencing great difficulties under the hand of hard Taskmasters or managers, when no one was capable to deliver them, they went to the right source, the Lord God, the Lord said “I have seen the affliction of my people..."

A New Beginning
Exodus 12:1–13

The Children of Israel were in Egypt experiencing great difficulties under the hand of hard Taskmasters or managers, when no one was capable to deliver them, they went to the right source, the Lord God, the Lord said “I have seen the affliction of my people, I have heard their cry, I know their sorrows, I will come down to deliver them.” (Exodus 3:7–8)

1 The month to be remembered (vs. 1–2)
The first month of the year; there was no such month like it before.

2 The message to all the people (vs. 3)
Speak unto all the people; none was exempt from the good news.

3 The method to be followed (vs. 4–11)
In the tenth day of the month they shall take every man a lamb. If the household be too small, they shall share with the next-door neighbor and (a) the whole lamb must be received, (b) adjustment must be to the lamb, not the lamb to the people, and (c) the lamb must be without blemish or spot. Ref: Heb. 9:14.

4 The meaning of all instructions (vs. 11)
It is the Lord’s Passover—redemption by blood.

5 The moment of inspection (vs. 12–13)
When I see the blood, I will pass over you. The judgment shall not be upon you when I smite the land of Egypt. He did not say when I see the bread or when I see the bitter herbs but when I see the blood. Their salvation was only by the application of the blood on the doorpost.

Different people may have different spiritual applications to this, but may I suggest one application that I see?

First we see man being enslaved in sin as a result of Adam’s transgression (Rom. 5:12). We see a day to be remembered when Christ came into the world to save sinners (Matt. 2:1; 1 Tim. 1:15).

We see a message to all of us (John 3:16).
We see a method to be followed: Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall the gift of the Holy Ghost. We see the meaning of the instruction (John 5:24).
We see there will be a moment of inspection when Jesus comes again (1 Thess. 4:13–18; Rev. 20:11–24).

Therefore, there must be the application of the blood of Christ before we leave this earth. The name H O L Y B I B L E is interpreted as:

He
Only
Loves
You;
Best Information
Before Leaving Earth.
