Charismatic churches often “lift up hands to the Lord” in their worship services. They base this practice on Psalm 134:2: “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.”
Also, in the New Testament, Paul states, “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands” (1 Tim. 2:8).
