THUNDER
It intensified the horror of the seventh plague of Egypt (Ex. 9:23).
Thunder was very rare in Palestine during the dry season; the one heard after Samuel’s prayer was a sign (1 Sam. 12:17).
In Hebrew It is “kol”, “voice”, “sound”. Prophets sometimes make it the symbol of Jehovah’s voice (Jb. 37:2-5; 40:4; Ps. 29:3-9; Jb. 28:26).
He accompanied the terrifying manifestation of God’s presence at Sinai (Ex. 19:16; cf. Rev. 4:5); He also symbolizes divine judgment (1 Sam. 2:10; 2 Sam. 22: 14,15; Ps. 77:18).
