Tribe arising from Japheth (Gen. 10:2), and mentioned along with Javan (Is. 66:19) and Meshech (Is. 32:26); He traded slaves and metals in the markets of Tire (Is. 27:13). Gog was prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal (Is. 38:2, 3; 39:1).
The Tibareni or Tibarenoi, descendants of Tubal, worked iron; They are cited by ancient authors.
