ADAM
City about two kilometers east of the Jordan, near the mouth of the Jabbok in the Sea of Tiberias, at the beginning of the Jordan, where the waters of this river began to accumulate to open a dry passage for the Jews, who, when the entire Jordan Valley, from this place, they were able to cross the river in the south.
This city appears to be referred to in 1 Kings 7:46 and 2 Chron. 4:17 (read “bema’abar ‘adama”: by Adam’s ford), as well as Joseph. 3:16 (read “me’adam ha’ir”: far from the city of Adam); today tell ed-damiye.
