AFEC

(a) Name of several cities in Canaan, mainly a Canaanite royal city, on the plain of Sharon, conquered by Joshua (Josh. 12:18), camp of the Philistines (1 Sam. 4:1ff.).
(b) A city of Asher (Josh. 19:31) never dominated by the Israelites, today is the Tell Kurdane on the plain of Akko.

(c) This was also the name given to the place where the Hebrews defeated the Syrians in fulfillment of the prophecy of Elisha (2 Kings 13:17), east of the Sea of Galilee. Herod called her Antipatride (Acts 23:31).

Most modern versions and revisions of the Reina y Valera Bible write Afek instead of Afeq. Due to obscurity in the Hebrew text there are other names that are translated with this name into Spanish.
