ARMAGEDDON
“mountain of slaughter” (Heb.).
It is the Hebrew name of the place where the kings of the earth and all nations will gather to make war against the Lord Jesus on the great day of Almighty God (Rev. 16:16).
It appears to be a mention of the great Palestinian battlefield of Esdraelon and Megiddo mentioned in various passages of Scripture (Judges 5:19; 1 Kings 4:12; 2 Kings 23:29, 30).
