ARNON (Torrent)
“thunderous current.”
A river that was formerly the border between the country of the Amorites, to the north, and that of the Moabites, to the south (Num. 21:13, 26).
Later it was the boundary between the tribe of Reuben to the north and Moab to the south (Deut. 3:8, 16; Josh. 13:16). It always has water; flows into the Dead Sea. Vegetation abounds on its banks and fish in its waters.
