Meaning of ARRIVAL (Second)

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ should be the brightest hope of every believer. Before his death, He gave the promise: "Do not let your hearts be troubled... I will... prepare a place for you."

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ should be the brightest hope of every believer. Before his death, He gave the promise: "Do not let your hearts be troubled... I will... prepare a place for you."

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am, you may also be” (John 14:1-3).

After His resurrection and ascension, two men in white robes announced to the disciples, still on the Mount of Olives: "This same Jesus, who was taken from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have seen him go into heaven" ( Acts 1:11).

This was the constant apostolic teaching. Paul, writing to the Thessalonians, tells them: "How you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us." of the wrath to come” (1 Thes. 1:9, 10).

On the other hand, writing his epistle to Titus, he says: "The grace of God has appeared for salvation to all men, teaching us that, renouncing ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, justly, and piously in this age, awaiting the blessed hope and glorious manifestation of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (Tit. 2:12, 13).

The NT closes its pages with a strong reminder of this hope, in the words of the Lord Himself: “I am coming shortly” (Rev. 22:20).

The apostle Peter expresses the characteristic features of the First and Second Comings of the Lord Jesus when he says: "The prophets who prophesied of the grace destined for you, inquired and diligently inquired about this salvation, searching what person and what time the Spirit of Christ who was in them, who foretold the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that would come after them” (1 Pet. 1:10, 11).

At his First Coming Christ wrought redemption through his atoning sufferings on the cross. In the Second, He will come to be universally recognized, in that day when every knee will bow to Him, and every tongue will confess Him (Phil. 2:5-11).

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus has various aspects. Firstly, that which relates to the rapture of the Church to Himself, both of the living believers and of those who fell asleep in Christ (1 Thes. 4:13-18); after that the public manifestation of him, appearing with his saints to judge the nations, crushing all opposition and establishing his kingdom (1 Thes. 3:13; Jude. 14; cf. Zech. 14: 5) .

It is in the Second Coming that the messianic promises of Israel's national liberation are fulfilled, based on the Lord's redemptive work in his First Coming and the national repentance of the Remnant.

Then, “after this” (the Church era), the tabernacle of David and the gathering of the saved nations will be restored (cf. Acts 15:14-18). Then the Lord will sit on the throne of David, reigning over the house of Jacob in an endless kingdom (cf. Luke 1:32, 33).

Put your Faith in Him and what He has done for you at the Cross.

Beginnings are one thing, while endings are another!

Jimmy Swaggart
On this first day of a brand-new year, which is a new beginning of sorts, the Lord offers to every person a brand-new beginning in their life, irrespective as to what the past has been. Millions this year will make New Year’s resolutions, resolutions which invariably will not be kept.
The place where god puts you will not be perfect—even eden was exposed to the possibility of evil. But there is no better place to be than where god has set you down.

A Place Called Home

Colin S. Smith and Tim Augustyn
The book of genesis is part of the revelation god gave to moses at mount Sinai, so when it says eden was “in the east,” we are talking about a location somewhere east of Sinai.
We were created to come close to a Father who has made himself vulnerable to the longings of his people and to absorb his desires as he cares for and works through ours.

God’s Heart and Ours

One of the primary ways God accomplishes his purposes on earth is through the prayers of his people. And one of our primary motivations for prayer is the desires in our hearts.

The Secret of Strength and Happiness

Timothy Keller
Psalm 1 is the gateway to the rest of the psalms. The “law” is all Scripture, to “meditate” is to think out its implications for all life, and to “delight” in it means not merely to comply but to love what God commands.
The new heavens and new earth are perfect because everyone and everything is glorifying God fully and therefore enjoying him forever.

A Glimpse into the Future of Eternal Praise

Timothy Keller
Every possible experience, if prayed to the God who is really there, is destined to end in praise. Confession leads to the joy of forgiveness. Laments lead to a deeper resting in him for our happiness. If we could praise God perfectly, we would love him completely and then our joy would be full.
