(a) One of Esau's wives, daughter of Ishmael and mother of Reuel (Gen. 36:3, 4). In the previous narrative (Gen. 26:34; 28:9), the names of Esau's wives differ from those given in chapter 36.
Women may have had two names, or changed their names upon marriage. It seems probable that Basemath, daughter of Elon, is the same as Ada, daughter of Elon; and let Basemath, daughter of Ishmael, be the same as Mahalat, daughter of Ishmael. Judith, daughter of Beeri, could be the same as Oholibamah, daughter of Anah, if Beeri is the name of her father, and Anah is the name of her mother.
(b) Daughter of Solomon and wife of Ahimaaz, one of Solomon's commissioners (1 Kings 4:15).
