Impure bird (Lev. 11:13; Deut. 14:12).
It has been identified with the gipaeto or bearded eagle.

It has a wingspan of 2.70 meters; It throws its prey from great heights to destroy them. It is a scary bird, and in Palestine it is found mainly in the ravines of the Arnon, east of the Dead Sea.
