(a) One of the cities with the right of asylum (Deut. 4:41-43), located east of the Jordan River in the territory of Reuben.
It was assigned as a habitation land for the descendants of Merari from the tribe of Levi (Josh. 21:36; 1 Chron. 6:63-78).
(b) One of the sons of Zophah of the house of Asher (1 Chron. 7:37).
