BREASTPLATE

Chest defense; It consisted of a protection made of leather or strong canvas on which bronze and, later, iron plates were sewn or finished; They were also worn with scales and chain mail.
It is used, figuratively:

(a) Of righteousness (for Christ) (Is. 59:17); also for the Christian’s conflict in the heavenly places (Eph. 6:14).

(b) Of faith and love (for the desert) (1 Thes. 5:8).

(c) Of iron (covering an attacking pest) (Rev. 9:9).

(d) Of fire, of sapphire, and of sulfur (the 200 million horsemen) (Rev. 9:17).
