BULRUSH
Designates: (a) A thin marsh plant, a symbol of fragility, of which there are about 200 species (Is. 15:19; 58:5).
(b) A more resistant plant than the previous one, which grows along the banks of rivers, and from which the little basket of the child Moses was made. It was also used in the manufacture of large boats (Ex. 2:3; Is. 18:2). It has been identified with the papyrus.
