CANE
Some versions also translate calamus.
(a) An aromatic reed, used in the preparation of sacred perfumes (Ex. 30:23; Song 4:14; Is. 43:24, etc.).
(b) This is also the name in the Bible for the stem of grass plants, which grow in humid places, and sometimes so tall and abundant that the hippopotamus hides among them (Jb. 40:16).
(c) It also designates a measure of length (Ex. 40:5; 42:16) that was probably a little more than 3 m.
