FOOLISH
Person lacking intelligence or wisdom (1 Sam. 21:13; Prov. 7:22; 2 Cor. 11:16).
The term fool designates particularly the sinner, implying the lack of knowledge of God that is revealed above all in the wicked (Jb. 5:2; Prov. 14:9).
The more talent one has received, the more responsibility one has; He who uses his gifts for evil purposes is a fool (1 Sam. 26:21; 2 Sam. 3:33; Ps. 14:1; cf. Ps. 14:2, 3, etc.; Pr. 26 :10; Mt. 5:22). He who turns away from God to follow idols and his wickedness is a fool (Jer. 4:22; 50:38; Rom. 1:22).
To the people of the world, it is the believers who are fools (Hos. 9:7; Acts 26:24; 1 Cor. 4:10). This is not surprising, since Christ himself was treated in this way (John 10:20; Mark 3:21). Therefore, “if anyone among you thinks he is wise in this world, let him become ignorant, that he may become wise” (1 Cor. 3:18).
