INDIA

INDIA

It was the eastern limit of the empire of Persia, just as Ethiopia was its western limit (Esther 1:1; 8:9).

India is not mentioned anywhere else in Scripture, but Solomon’s ships may have included it in his three-year voyages in search of sandalwood, monkeys, peacocks, etc. (1 Kings 10:22).

Alexander, on his victorious march through Asia, had entered it, crossing the Indus River.
