JUG BRAND
Marks printed on certain clay containers. They have been discovered in various archaeological excavations, most of them in the ruins of Lachish.
Some of the marks denote the owner, others the capacity, and some, perhaps, refer to patterns used to contrast the capacity of other jugs.
Among the remains found in archaeological levels after the exile, marks in the shape of the Star of David have been found, it is speculated that they were intended to contain contributions to the Temple cult.
