Place to which the Assyrians deported the inhabitants of Damascus (2 Kings 16:9; Am. 1:5).
There was a time when the Arameans emigrated from Kir in Syria (Am. 9:7). Kir attacked Judah along with Elam (Is. 22:6).
Its probable location is between the Tigris and the plain of Elam.
