KIRIATHAIM
(a) City of the Semites, who were defeated by Chedorlaomer (Gen. 14:5). The Reubenites rebuilt it (Num. 32:37; Josh. 13:19), and the Moabites later took possession of it (MESA [STELE OF], 10; Jer. 48:1, 23; Ex. 25:9) .
Its ruins occupy two hills about 11 km east of the Dead Sea and the same number north of the Arnon.
(b) Another name for the city of Chartan (Josh. 21:34; cf. 1 Chron. 6:76).
