MAGDALA
“Tower”.
City located, according to the Talmud, on the western coast of the Sea of Gennesaret, near Tiberias, less than a Sabbath road (about 1 km) from the lake.
The remains of Magdala are found in the village of el-Medidel, 5 km north of Tiberias.
