MAMON
Aramaic term that means “riches.”
He is personified as a “lord” in Mt. 6:24; Lc. 16:13: “You cannot serve God and mammon.” In Lk. 16:9, 11 is called “unrighteous mammon” (Gk.) (as belonging to this world in which God’s rights to everything are not recognized) as opposed to true wealth, which belongs to the world to come.
