MANAHAT
“repose”.
(a) Son of Shobal the Horite (Gen. 36:23); possibly it was also a place inhabited by a branch of the tribe of Shobal (1 Chron. 1:40).
(b) Place where the Benjamites of Geba were deported by members of the other tribes (1 Chron. 8:6); prob. Malha, almost 5 km southwest of Jerusalem.
Some descendants of Salma, of the family of Caleb, of the tribe of Judah, undoubtedly formed half of its population, or that of another locality of that name (1 Chron. 2:54).
