MICAIAHS
“Who is like Jehovah?” (a) Prophet, son of Imla; Ahab ordered him, like the prophets of Baal, to tell what would be the result of the planned expedition against Ramoth of Gilead.
Micah began by ironically predicting what the king wanted to hear; The king, no doubt realizing the sarcasm in the tone of his voice, ordered him to tell him what was going to happen.
Then the prophet, in the name of Jehovah, announced that Ahab would die in battle. The king of Israel ordered that Micaiah be thrown into prison, and that he be left to bread and water, until the victory of the Israelites demonstrated the falsehood of this prophecy (1 Kings 22:8-28; 2 Chron. 18 : 627).
However, Ahab died according to the word of Jehovah spoken by Micaiah. (b) Mother of King Abijah of Judah (2 Chron. 13:2). (c) One of the princes sent by King Jehoshaphat to teach the Law in the cities of Judah (2 Chron. 17:7).
(d) Descendant of Asaph (Neh. 12:35). (e) One of the priests who blew the trumpet at the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem (Neh. 12:41).
(f) Son of Gemariah. Under Jehoiakim’s reign, he informed the princes of Judah of the words of Jeremiah, which Baruch had taken dictation and read to them (Jer. 36:11-13).
