MINA
(Gr. “mnã”; Heb. “mãneh”, which comes from the root of counting; see MENE). Its value varies in different countries and times. Mines weighing between 423 and 570 g are preserved in the British Museum, while the average Babylonian mine weighed no more than 505 g.
There is also uncertainty as to the number of shekels into which it was divided. It seems that in Babylon it was divided into 50 shekels, while the Jewish division was 60 shekels per mina
