MITRA
Headdress (Heb. “misnepheth”) of the high priest. This tiara, the shape of which is not indicated in the Scriptures, included a gold plate on which the words “Holiness to Jehovah” were engraved. A blue cord attached this plate to the front of the tiara (Ex. 28:4, 36-39; Lev. 16:4; Ez. 21:31).
