MYSIA
Province in the extreme northwest of Asia Minor. Limited to the north by the Propontidae (Sea of Marmara), to the south by Lydia, to the east by Bithynia, to the west by the Hellespont (ancient name of the Dardanelles).
The territory of Mysia included Tróas, where the city of Troy (Ilion) had been located. Paul and Silas passed on to Troas, one of the cities of Mysia (Acts 16:7, 8).
Paul’s companions headed by sea to Ashon in Mysia, where Paul joined them having headed there by land (Acts 20:13). Pergamos, one of the seven churches of Asia, was also in Mysia (Rev. 1:11; 2:12-17).
