In certain texts "nãyõth" appears, in others, "nãweyath." The LXX and the Codex Vaticanus and Lucian prefer the second transcription. Possibly this term is related to the Heb. "nãweh" (pasture, shelter for shepherds, nomads, from which the general sense of habitation was derived).

Based on Arabic, "nãweyath" is given the meaning of the place where one studies (college, school), although it is doubtful that this term, in such an earlier time, had this meaning. Therefore, it is preferable to assume the interpretation that it is a room or dwelling.
