PANPIPE

PANPIPE

From Aram. “sumphoneya”, found in Dn. 3:5, 7, 10, 15; comes from the gr. “sumphonia”, which means “symphony, harmony of sounds.”

This instrument is used in numerous places in the East, resembling a bagpipe or bagpipe, but having only two tubes, one to blow air into the skin, and the other to play with.
