PONTUS

Maritime district in the northeast of Asia Minor, bathed by the waters of the Ponto-Euxino (Black Sea). Together with Bithynia it formed a Roman province.

There were Jews scattered throughout Pontus (1 Pet. 1:1). There were Jews from Pontus in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:9). Aquila was a native of Pontus (Acts 18:2).
