SUNSTROKE
Disease caused by excessive exposure to the hot summer sun, especially in the midday hours. It produces extreme prostration.
The skin dries, and the patient feels nauseous at first, then falls into unconsciousness; Generally, at this stage recovery is very difficult, and death occurs.
In 2 Kings 4: 18-35 the story of the death of the Shunammite woman’s son from sunstroke and his resurrection by Elisha is told.
In Isaiah 49:10 God promises to protect those delivered from Zion from this evil.
