TIN

The “stannum” of the ancients, from which its chemical symbol (Sn) is derived. It is alloyed with lead, from which it is separated by fusion. It was used in alloys with copper to make bronze.

It was used in Egypt and Palestine before the exodus (Num. 31:32).
The Tyrians imported it from Tarshish (Ez. 27:12).
