TRUMPETS (Feast)

It took place on the first day of the seventh month. It was to be “a day of rest, a commemoration with the sound of trumpets, and a holy convocation.” They were not to do any menial work that day, and were to offer an offering made by fire to Jehovah (Lev. 23:23-25).

It indicated a renewal of blessing, and was followed by the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles that same month.

It is a type of the future day of Israel’s awakening, when the outpouring of blessings upon the nation will be imminent.
