ZEBEDEE
(Gr. form of Hebrew «Z’badyãh»: «Jehovah has given»). Husband of Salomé, and father of Jacobo and Juan. He and his sons were fishermen on the Sea of Galilee (Mt. 4:21, 22).
Zebedee was well off and had servants (Mark 1:19, 20). He was not at all opposed to his children following Jesus.
