ZEMARAIM

ZEMARAIM

(a) City of Benjamin (Josh. 18:22); Frequently identified with Khirbet is Samrah, 5 km west of the Jordan and 6 km north of Jericho. Another more plausible identification: Rãs ez-Zeimara, in the mountains, between Taiyibeh and Rammûn.

(b) Height of the mountainous region of Ephraim, from whose summit King Abijah of Judah addressed the ten tribes before fighting against them (2 Chron. 13:4).

It is possible that it was located south of Bethel (2 Chron. 13:19). It is likely that this mountain was found near the town of Zemaraim.
