Kenneth E. Hagin was born in McKinney, Texas. the August 20, 1917. He is known for pioneering the Word of Faith movement, and is considered a preacher of the prosperity gospel.
In April 1933 it was converted. He began his ministry as a preacher in different interdenominational churches in Texas. It was to the Baptist groups that he helped the most. His baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1937 led him to relate to the Pentecostals.
In Texas, he began to shepherd several Pentecostal churches and began an itinerant ministry as a teacher and evangelist (1949). During the next 14 years, according to him, he had a series of 8 visions about Jesus Christ.
In the third vision he was given the gift of discernment of spirits. From 1963 he founded his own organization in Garland (Texas), for the distribution of his books and articles. He was the founder of Rhema Bible Training Center in 1974.
In 1988 more than 10,000 students had been graduated. His radio show: Faith Seminar of the Air is heard on 180 radio stations in 39 states. Distributes thousands of books and tapes annually.
His message emphasizes the so-called "prosperity gospel" and positive confession. He has divided many churches for his way of seeing growth and his particular interpretation of the Scriptures.
President of the Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He circulates about twenty booklets edited by himself in the Faith Library Publications, where he often repeats the same concepts. His doctrine is based on a very personalistic vision.
