A Man Without Fear

Charles Spurgeon

Moses it could not be imagined that a wise God would match poor Moses with Pharaoh and the enormous forces of Egypt. Hence He says, Certainly I will be with thee. Daily Devotional by Charles Spurgeon

What manner of person ought he to be who has God with him! In such company it behoveth me to play the man, and like Moses go in unto Pharaoh without fear.

What manner of person ought he to be who has God with him! In such company it behoveth me to play the man, and like Moses go in unto Pharaoh without fear.

A Man Without Fear. Daily devotional by Charles Spurgeon

"And he said, Certainly I will be with thee"—Exodus 3:12

Of course, if the Lord sent Moses on an errand, He would not let him go alone.

The tremendous risk which it would involve, and the great power it would require, would render it ridiculous for God to send a poor lone Hebrew to confront the mightiest king in all the world, and then leave him to himself.

It could not be imagined that a wise God would match poor Moses with Pharaoh and the enormous forces of Egypt. Hence He says, "Certainly I will be with thee," as if it were out of the question that He would send him alone.

In my case, also, the same rule will hold good. If I go upon the Lord's errand, with a simple reliance upon His power, and a single eye to His glory, it is certain that He will be with me.

His sending me binds Him to back me up. Is not this enough? What more can I want? If all the angels and archangels were with me, I might fail; but if HE is with me, I must succeed.

Only let me take care that I act worthily toward this promise. Let me not go timidly, half-heartedly, carelessly, presumptuously.

What manner of person ought he to be who has God with him! In such company it behoveth me to play the man, and like Moses go in unto Pharaoh without fear.

Faith's Checkbook

Charles Spurgeon
A promise from God may very instructively be compared to a check payable to order. It is given to the believer with the view of bestowing upon him some good thing. Faith's Checkbook is a daily devotional by Charles Spurgeon.
The apostle Paul learned to emphasize the eternal after meeting Christ.

Learning To Think Eternally

David Jeremiah
In his book Maximum Achievement, corporate trainer Brian Tracy writes, “Virtually everything you do is the result of habit. The way you talk, the way you work, drive, think, interact with others, spend money and deal with the important people in your life are all largely habitual.”
Jesus Christ, the mediator, came to break the wall of enmity and to secure peace for us with God.

Our Great Mediator In Life—Jesus Christ

Augustine Ampratwum-Duah
In our world, mediation is crucial in dispute resolution. A mediator assists and guides parties toward an amicable and acceptable resolution, and they conduct mediation in a fair and unbiased manner. However, the Bible says there is one mediator! There is not one mediator for kings and another for their subjects, not one for the rich and another for the poor.
Nothing is too small for you to bring to Him in prayer. He has the answer you seek to every question.

A Refuge and Rock

Charles Stanley
King David often used words such as refuge and rock to explain his relationship with God. For him, God was a refuge—a place where he could go anytime to find encouragement and understanding.
The principle is this: David allowed God to promote him in His way and in His time.

God will Exalt you in due Season

Charles Stanley
David knew that the Lordhad established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel. Have you ever been passed over at work for a promotion that you felt you deserved?
Jesus Christ holds the greatest amount of acceptance you could ever hope to find

Loving Acceptance

Charles Stanley
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
