From him, David bought his threshing floor and oxen to offer sacrifice to Jehovah (2 Sam. 24:16-24). He is also called Ornan (1 Chr. 21: 15-28).
In the passage of Samuel the purchase of the mere threshing floor where he erected the altar is related; In the First Chronicles the purchase of the place is included, possibly later, which probably included Ornán’s house. This is what is now known as the temple area, in the southeast of Jerusalem.
