ASTROLOGERS

ASTROLOGERS

(1) In the book of Daniel (Dan. 1:20; 2:2, 10, 27; 4:7; 5:7, 11, 15) the Hebrew word is “ashshaph,” which means “magician, enchanter.” , one who practiced the occult arts. This word does not appear in any other passage.

(2) “Habar shamaim”, one who contemplated or divided the heavens, an astrologer, who professed to predict future events by the position of the planets (Isa. 47:13).

Babylon was weary of her many advisors, who doubtless frequently differed among themselves. But he had nowhere else to go, so he turned to all these occult practices.
