One of Job's friends, a Shuhite, perhaps a descendant of Shua, the son of Abraham and Keturah. He did not understand Job's case at all, and could only conclude that Job was being punished for his wickedness, while God had declared Job righteous.
The wrath of God was kindled against Bildad; but when he, along with his two companions, offered a sacrifice and Job had prayed for them, God accepted him (Jb. 2:11; 8:1; 18:1; 25:1; 42:9).
