CITIZEN

CITIZEN

One who enjoyed municipal rights and duties, and the protection of the laws. Paul was a “citizen” of Tarsus (Acts 21:39).

Gentile believers are no longer strangers to the privileges of God’s people, but are “fellow citizens” with the saints, and “of the house of God” (Eph. 2:19). Christian citizenship, “politeuma,” is not earthly, but is in heaven, where it awaits the Savior (Phil. 3:20).
